Birgit Kamm est membre du directoire et la directrice scientifique de biopos depuis 1998. Elle fondait l'Association Bioraffinerie Verte Berlin-Brandebourg en 1997 et elle était parmis les fondateurs de biorefinery.de GmbH, Potsdam (une entreprise de recherche, développement et transfert). Elle est membre de quelques associations scientifiques, par exemple la Société des Chimistes Allemands, l'Association Liebig de Chimie Organique et la Société Chimique Américaine, Chimie Verte et Sousdivision.

Patrick Gruber est le Président et gérant d'Ooutlast Technologies. Il est l'ancien vice-président et Chief Technology Officer de NatureWorks LLC (anciennement Cargill Dow LLC), États-Unis. Il posséde plus de 40 patents et gagnait plusieurs distinctions pour son travail dans le domaine des produits chimiques, y compris le Discovery Award for Environmental Innovation décerné par le Christopher Columbus Fellowship Foundation, le US Presidential Green Chemistry Award et le US Department of Energy Technology of the Year Award en 2001 en collaboration avec Cargill Dow Inc. pour le travail de pionnier dans le projet PLA de NatureWorks. Il a travaillé dans le Advisory Board to the Energy Futures Coalition, le DOE/USDA Biomass Federal Advisory Board et quelques autres comités.

Michael Kamm étudiait la Chimie Organique à Merseburg. Après une assistance de recherche à Halle-Wittenberg, il s'est transféré à l'Université de Potsdam, a fondé biopos où il participait à l'exploitation du matériel des matériaux régénératifs. Il est le président de biorefinery.de depuis sa fondation en 2001.
